It’s Clean Air Day on 21st June. While mostly invisible, air pollution is a serious health risk and York is possibly one of the most polluted cities in the UK despite long-term efforts to clean up. As the photo at the bottom of our June email update demonstrates, more needs to be done* and we can all help York clean up – for ideas, free resources and info, visit the campaign.
* the photo shows filters which were used to bring in ‘fresh’ outside air for several months into one of the local Passivhauses and to take inside air out; it is very clear which filter is which and you may be shocked by the colour difference…
